Huh?

Hey Nerds,

As some of you know, those of us that run the site are actually nerds. We all enjoy reading and learning and all that other academic crap. But, we didn’t start out that way.

For example, I HATED BIOLOGY when I took it the first time. Yes, the “first time.” I took AP Bio in high school and passed with a borderline C. I got a 3 on the AP test. I couldn’t wait to be done with biology forever.

Unfortunately, hard science is a graduation requirement at Rhodes. I figured that since I already took biology (and I learned a lot there), I’d just take it again… and THIS TIME get a higher grade.

Now, I LOVE bio. So much so, that I decided to major in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

What? Yeah, I know – drastic right? But the second time around, I could see the concepts SO MUCH MORE CLEARLY. I created this site to share that with everybody…

Ok, so that’s not quite true… I’ve always loved biology. BUT, I did barely pass, I did epic fail on the AP test in high school, and I did decide to major in BMB at Rhodes. So why did I lie to you guys? To keep your attention, of course.

I began to do well because despite my grades, I was actually interested in the topics at hand, and eventually, I got the hang of the stuff I was studying. Holding my interest, however, was the result of GOOD TEACHERS – something a lot of schools don’t have.

So, this is my way of “paying it forward.” My teachers opened my eyes  and showed me that the concepts aren’t that hard (else there wouldn’t be so many people studying them), and that I could do it.

I hope you can get some good use out of the site. My good friends and I have all decided that this is the best way to use our talents (and maybe gain some recognition by graduate schools). We’ve written articles, reviews, and posted links – and we’re still growing.  Soon we’ll have quizzes, videos, and an active forum where we can talk 1-on-1 with you guys.

But we’ll need your help to get going. We’re giving you hundreds of dollars worth of FREE TUTORING and only asking this in return: tell your class. Tell your teacher and have her/him tell her/his teacher friends. Spread the word, because we want to keep doing this.

Thanks for reading, nerds. And don’t forget to subscribe!
